Gabriela has lived her entire life in the mountains of Palanda, hailing from a proud line of coffee farmers. Her father taught her everything she knows about coffee, and was fortunate enough to gift each of his children a parcel of land to begin their own coffee journey.
Gabriela and her husband Carlos live and work on their farm, named Bella Vista for its breathtaking views. Gabriela has been actively involved in specialty coffee since 2014, cultivating many different varieties on their 5ha plot, in addition to raising cattle. They operate their farm using organic and sustainable agriculture processes. Working in coffee has allowed Gabriela to provide for her family just as her father was able to for her.
This coffee goes through meticulous hand picking, before being sorted through water to remove any unripe cherries and debris. The cherries are then pulped and the coffee is fermented in grainpro bags for 72 hours before being washed fully and transferred to a covered drying area until optimal moisture levels are achieved. Gabriela believes that slow drying leads to a better quality of coffee.
