High in the hills of Burundi, Nkonge Hill is home to a community of coffee-growing families working alongside the Long Miles Coffee Project. Through its Coffee Scouts programme, Long Miles supports farmers with sustainable agricultural practices, tree care and improved harvest quality.
The region's rich soils, high elevation and abundant rainfall create ideal conditions for growing Bourbon coffee. At Heza Washing Station, carefully selected cherries are dried whole on raised beds, allowing the fruit to influence the coffee's final character.
