Gloria Nelcy Ruiz has spent more than 30 years in coffee, building Finca La Reserva alongside her late husband, Carlos, and later with their children. The farm’s name comes from a family tradition of setting aside a “reserva” after each harvest, savings that eventually made it possible to buy the land and build the family’s future.
Since Carlos passed away in 2020, Gloria has continued leading the farm with the support of her children, including her youngest son, who now helps manage fermentation. At 1790 masl in the hills of Palestina, the family grows Bourbon Rosado, Tabi and Caturra, while continuing to improve processing and drying through Caravela’s PECA program.
This is a coffee shaped by care, persistence and family history, carrying forward a legacy built over decades.
