Finca Cruz Loma is a family farm surrounded by vast jungle and a diverse ecosystem. In fact, there has only been access to the farm for approximately 50 years. There were no roads or streets to reach the farm, people could only get there by foot or on horseback creating two distinct tracks across the summit that could be seen from a distance. At this time the farm was owned by Grace's grandfather and he named the farm Cruz Loma after this cross on the hill.
Grace's father then took over the farm and there was still no suitable way to transport heavy goods. His goal was to mechanise the farm processes but being unable to get large machinery into place it created a large obstacle for him. He began to study mechanics, allowing him to bring machinery in small pieces and assemble them himself in place. This meant Cruz Loma was the first farm in the region to have mechanised processes.
Grace and her brother Galo took on the management of Cruz Loma. Grace has been preparing coffee for us since 2019, and the farm has been highly celebrated, winning a number of awards thanks to the high quality.
