Banko Gotiti comes from the village of the same name in Gedeb, within Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region. Coffee here is grown by hundreds of smallholder farming families surrounding the Banko Gotiti washing station, with farms sitting at elevations reaching around 2,300 metres above sea level.
The Banko Gotiti Cooperative was established in 2012 after separating from the larger Worka Cooperative, allowing the local community to operate independently. Today, the cooperative brings together around 300 members, with coffee from surrounding family farms delivered to the washing station for processing.
This lot is washed, a style of processing with a long history in Yirgacheffe and one that has helped shape the region’s reputation for distinctive, high-quality coffees.
