Finca Lucerito, meaning “little light”, is the result of Mirian Jimenez’s dedication to building something of her own in the hills of Cajamarca. Coming from a family of farmers, she found in coffee both a livelihood and a way to channel her persistence, with a focus on quality that has sharpened over the past four years in specialty coffee.
Mirian manages her two-hectare farm largely on her own, bringing in support during peak periods. Her approach centres on anaerobic fermentation in sealed GrainPro bags for up to 72 hours, followed by slow, careful drying on tarps and under cover, sometimes taking close to a month depending on conditions.
Working closely with Caravela has helped refine her processing and elevate cup quality year on year. This is a coffee built on patience, precision and a clear sense of purpose, a reflection of Mirian’s drive to stand out through the work she puts into every lot.
